I have 3 tanks n 5 adult gerbs n 3 pups. I dun breed intensively..... more for hobby and getting some colors..... I'll be giving most of the pups up at 2-3mths. Out of the 3 tanks, 1 is for the 2 boys I have, 1 for the gals and the other a nursery for mom and pups. I often let all the gerbs out together so they kinda know everyone... So, when I breed, I just leave that pair in the boys tank (of course only one male in there, otherwise they will fight over the gals). When they have mated at least 10 times or 10mins, I'll remove the gal and swarp a different male in the tank and put in another gal for them to mate for 10 mins. Then, I'll remove the gal and put back into the Ladies tank and put both boys into their Male's tank again. I only works when the gals are put inot the boy's tank and not the other.......If uput the male in the ladies tank, they will fight him..... seems to me that the gals are more territorial...... Boys dun care that much, once they see a gal.... all they want to do is to mate! Keke..... Hope this been useful.
