Hi. I am new to MGF.
Haven't got any gerbs yet but that's the case right now... I am researching for them... Plan to buy a few from u guys here... bull lover, crazymouse n lots other, can u take me in as a member of the gerbil society?
I've own hamsters before... From Syrians to dwarfs - Roborovski, Russian Campbell, Winter White... Once own up to 15 Syrians, 30 Roborovskis, 10 Russian Campbell n 20 Winter Whites... That's since when I'm Form 5... I never sell mine... I take care for them until they are leaving me coz of old age... : ( seeing each of them leaving me hurts so much...
Now, I am looking for GERBILS! Quite confuse of the genetics though. But they are not difficult right?
Anyone can help me?

Hi welcome to the gerbil's family  oh finally someone is interested in genetic.. waiting for this day for a LONG time!! hmmmm my pups will only available on Feb. waw u had soo many hamster b4!!! must be busy with them... hope u will enjoy ur stay here, n get ur gerbils soon |

Hehe... Thanks for the reply... Hamsters are not that suitable for me... Coz i'm always looking for creatures that can live together ( not the case of Syrians Hamster as they can kill each other when matured ) n they don't comes in an array of colours as gerbils ( the case that dwarf comes in the same colour like the roborovski ). Gerbils in the other hand :- 1 ) Can live happily together 2 ) Genetics which make them come with an array of colours That's why i am searching the net to see if there are any breeders in the net in Malaysia. And then one day, pop! I found this forum! Am I lucky of what? A forum of Gerbils in Malaysia itself! Good jobs guys!!! : ) What colours will ur gerbils be available in February ? I'm thinking of starting a Gerbil Farm of my own... But all the gerbils ARE NOT TO BE SOLD !!! As with my hamsters before. What do you call a gerbil farm  Hamster = Hamstery rite ? syrian come with alot of colors too right.. just here we don't hv much.. they also work with genetic. feb not much colors, cos its my old pair, only black, sp black lilac, agouti n argente cream. n there is a waiting list.. so not sure what will left over, n also hv to see what sex they r. if u r thinking to breeder gerbils, u will really need to study their genetic. but sorry to say i don't let go breeding pair. unless someone can show me how keen n how good life n responsible they r really don't want gerbil end up like hamster.. gerbil may call clan i think:) |

Welcome to the forum! One great thing about gerbils is they can live together in a community. Although the number is always highly debated among fanciers, but I would say a family of any size usually get along, for non related males, up to 5 and for non related girls up to 3.

Gerbilry!!! Yeah!!! Hope to have my own... What if i buy from different breeder n using split cage method to pair them up? Can work not like that? Hopefully la rite...
I am doing research on which colours should i get... Any1 can help me?

Yeah by the way, 3 days ago, i went to Zara n saw a tank full of gerbils there... Mostly lilac, diluted lilac, one argente and one pied black. Cant get a good look as the shop is closing. The salesgirl kinda like halau me. hehehe But manage to call him the other day... There are 3 types then : 1 ) Mongolian Gerbils - RM28 each 2 ) Fat-tailed Gerbils - dunno at RM120 each or per pair 3 ) Pallid Gerbil ( Long-footed Gerbil ) - RM320 per pair Also saw a skunk, albino ferret, lovebirds in nestboxes, lizards, tarantula, scorpion... Is lilac gerbs a rare one How come he got all lilac ( 10plus little creature ) Looks kind of crowded there... Pity them... |

Its Zara Exotic Pets. Inside The Summit, Subang Jaya itself. U will find it near the spiral stairs in the mall...

lilac is not rare zara got lilac n dove i guess, there is no dilute gene in m'sia. the sp black is an old man hehhe..n i guess the argente baby is from an other daddy which is not in the shop, he & she told me that the daddy n mummy is all there.. but no way for that.. lilac & dove will not make argente, so the female was mate with 2 males i guess b4 his hand. there are 2 litters there, he is lucky that they don't kill each other pups... $28 he is droping his price used to be $68, is this call a petshop u can go around to see what color u can found, n maybe u think think what u should pair, we will give u advise pets family n 88 sunway mas also got some gerbils a few petshop out there is trying to get rid of their gerbil stock, cos most of them oledi keep for mths. they r throwing the price now, u can go n hv a look, just make sure u check their condition... |

Ratt, u know what? He even persuade me to but more from him... By the way he is talking to me over the phone, i dont feel that the gerbils are being taken care of. If i wanted any gerbils now, sure i will look for them from CZM, Taro or everybody else here... What for i look for them when i can get good breeds from u all rite??? hehe |

Maybe he really wanna get rid of them...if u buy, make sure check properly 1st ya.

yes Zara once got new stock the price will be in the sky, few mths later it will drop on the ground n step step step. usual style.. this is how pet shop do... wat to do? they breed or get the animal in low price, give lousy food, zara will show u he feed cashews nut, but don't he know that is only FAT? hehhehe if u want to know more.. go visit Zara when the boss is not there n only his wife there.. go ask n ask.. then go again when the boss there.. ask back same questions... then u will know LOL.... kelvin, what u expect to hv in ur gerbil clan? |
