Hey All, I have trouble determining whether Duchess is a Black or Slate. Many ppl tell me she is Black but I have my doubts..... Are there any guidelines that I can follow and compare? Since she has 2 black pups and 2 pink pups (assuming both white or even the dead one isnt white), doesnt seems that she is a black. My gut feel tells me Slate. PLS HELP!  |

   Hi, I've input a pic comparison I found on a site to try and determine Duchess color. This is abit challenging So....wat do u think? Black, Slate or CP Slate? This is no camera gimmick the color pattern is as exact and thru as it is. Cheers, Joey |

ok found something here... blow ur Duchess fur, if the root is grey, she is Slate, if its black, then she is black!! good luck!!

She's got greyish fur! Woa cool........So she's a Slate like I thought she was.................
Hmmmm..................next step is to hope her white pup is a PEW... Duchess a CP Slate!
LOL How cool! Maybe wishful thinking.... keke

 U can see that Duchess ain't that Black anymore  The coat round her neck is becoming white.........didn't have that when she is younger.  Here's the uneven coat tone..... greyish undercoat.....top black  Skin's pink too! Ain't this a little weird?  These pics are taken under natural sunlight with no flash. hmmmm... eyes do glow red with flash of camera.... I looked at her undercoat and found that her skin is pink! It's kinda stange isn't? ...... Her black pup's skin are Black...... Any ideas? Cheers, Joey |

Go check this out...... www.rennmaeuse.info/mongolen_farben.htmlvery good for differentiating Blacks n Slates since their colors are very close when the arent diluted. The slates has grey ring around the eyes (like the argente has white).....also has grey patch on the feets esp the hind ones.....Blacks has no patches..... it's an even velvet black. Hope this helps! |
