i've sme gerbils tat needs fattening up. juz wondering if any1 prepared own receipe or cme across any tat hlps to turn dem chubbier ;D their current diet is prestige+browns ham/gerbil mix along wif daily rotation of flaxseed, linseed, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, melon seeds, oat bran, buckwheat, pine nuts n rolled oats. besides the dried stuffs, they get fresh supplies of green leafy veges, long beans, french beans, babycorn, cucumbers n fruits too

some protene will make them fatter, like egg, dog or cat kibbles. abit of cheese also can..

oh yeap i tried eggs b4, they aint attracted to it.
i do have dog kibbles, so far onli throw in once or twice. n yes they love it ;D
yet 2 try cheese. do u meant those cheese slices or cubes?

Try feedin rice and dog biscuit / kitten food rice as in cooked or raw? plain white rice or brown rice?

Cooked white rice. Not sure if brown is ok, so far what we try is white.

Mine loves brown rice. Have you tried Mealworms? Quite good to fatten up a gerbil.

I just hold the worms with tweezers and my gerbils grab them and eats them. Good protein and fats in mealworms... but then many feel icky with mealworms. I got a lot coz I feed my hedgehog and leopard gecko with mealworms.
