Most gerbs pups wean at 5-6 weeks old.... So when u go to a pet-store make sure that they are at lest 2 mths old before buying them. If u get any gerbs younger then that..... they might get problems in later life caused by nutrients inefficiency from getting weaned too early. Some lucky ones may survive but most don't. So, take heed and choose yer gerbs wisely. Good Luck!

How do you detect an under-age Gerbil baby?

You should be able to see if they are underage. Compare them to the adult gerbils around them, they dont walk properly but stumble round the tank. Some of them may have an eye not open yet, and their size is quite tiny.
