Once a female gerb is in heat.... the mating ritual occurs up to twice a week.
Gerbil mating is a tiresome ritual. The females makes the males chase after them...... in which the male only mounts onto the female for a sec..... this preocess is repeated for over an hours...... I have witness the ritual up to 4 hrs..... periodically.
Upon successful mount and ejaculation, the female will thus clean herself, likewise the male.
I've managed to capture some pics and video......
