Hey,
This is by chance.... I usually let loose all 5 gerbs in my apartment so my 2 kids can learn to handle them. The othe objective is to let the gerbs know of each other existence since they leave in different tanks. I have 2 boy gerbs n 3 gal gerbs.
Esp Boys and Gals separated.
They are too young to mate.
3 gals are a trouble..... there's a dominant that's Saki (spotted). They all love each other and live together well... suddenly, a month later, the other 2 gals, snowball (REW) and duchess (slate) decided to fight for no.2 dominance over each other..... Hell broke loose and fights got bloodier. I was false to take duchess out cos her tail got badly hurt....snowball's face in terrible condition. Saki is a very good gal and tried to stop the fights by pushing the aggressor (duchess) away. Saki got hurt too. SIGH... such a sorry sight!
Anyway, I tried to use Split Cage on the 3 of them.... Since snowball and duchess only get along with Saki each and not each other. However, I found this method fruitless. Slate n White simply grew to hate each other!
I had no choice but put Duchess into a tempt tank to "cool off"
like a confinement box. (Put the aggressor into a small tank for "time out") The small tank is in the big tank, so they can see n smell each other..... kinda like a Jail-house.
After 1 month, it still didnt work.
I put the small tank on top of the boy's tank. And to my surprised, Duchess escaped and decided to visit the boys!
Keke... didn't knew she could smell the boys.
Luckily, the boys welcome her...... I think it's becos of the opportunity to mate. Of cos Chubbie n Furrbie had their little fights to see who has the Right to mate her!. Duchess isn't aggressive too...... How strange..... lol HORMONES..

Duchess: "Hey! nice house!"
The boys: "Haha! We have her surrounded!" "She's such a cutie"
On the same day, they decided to let her stay.... No agression shown at all......
1 week later, Hide n seek?

Btw, 1month later, Duchess got preg...... apparently. Chubbie is the alpha male so he got on to her first... however, Furrbie tries his luck too....when Chubbie isn't looking!
